Theory Of Constraints

The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a set of thinking, decision making and interpersonal communication tools, enabling managers to continually achieve more out of the system they manage.

It is based in the understanding that the performance of any system, no matter how complex, is governed by only a few elements. It provides the ability to identify such elements, and focus management attention on them, so that the performance of the system as a whole will improve.

TOC was introduced by the late Dr. Eli Goldratt, 30 years ago, through his best seller "The Goal" and since has evolved into a comprehensive, holistic management philosophy.

It covers the following areas: Operations (manufacturing, processes, workflow), Project Management, Distribution & Supply Chain, Retail, Financial measurements & Managerial accounting, Sales, Innovation management, Change management, Strategy & Tactics – Developing a company-wide improvement plan.

TOC was successfully implemented, around the world, in many industries such as:

Aerospace, Apparel, Automotive, Consumer goods, Construction, Defense, Distribution, Education, Financial Services, Government, Health, Pharmaceuticals, Enterprise software, and much more…
